Wow Wednesday 1 - October "Toxic Spellbooks"

Hello cropstars!!  I just wanted to share the card I made for Wow Wednesday!

This month on our Ning community we have a new gallery challenge:

So, the DT made some examples of some projects you could make that would be perfect as entries into the challenge!
Along with the kit contents I used Sakura gel pens, Tim Holtz emboss borders, and Clearsnap Spritzer in red to create the "blood" splatters.

As a bonus, I created this skull and cross bones SVG for use in  your cutting machines!  The SVG file is only available to members of the Ning community!  It can be found HERE!

Want to see the other inspirational projects?  Check out the BLOG!

Thanks for stopping by people!!

Ok, ready for some Saturday inspiration?
From the moment I saw this kit I wanted to make this project!

I built the hat our of chipboard and covered it with black cardstock.  I anchored the embellishments with one of the flair buttons and then used some stickers and some elements cut from one of the papers to decorate the hat.

I used a Martha Stewart Spider Web, Punch Around the Page to create the base.  I gave everything a little bit of white ink to define the edges.  I also added a few Petaloo feathers (because I couldn't resist!)

Let me know what you think!!!

Ok, ready for some Friday inspiration?

I'm loving the chalkboard look lately!  I decided to use the chalkboard technique to create a seriously spooky card!

(I die cut the spider from a Tim Holtz die and debossed the spiderweb image into the black cardstock with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.  I used some white pigment ink to add contrast and create the chalkboard look!)*

DCWV - Spooky Time Stack Mini Album!!

Hello people!! Just a quick one today to show off my cute DCWV Halloween mini album!

I used three new stacks to construct my book: The Spooky Time Stack (12x12) and the Corrugated Naturals and Corrugated Brights stacks.

First, I chose the patterned papers and the colors of the corrugated 6x6's I wanted to use.  I decided that 6x6 already a great size for the book, so I cut down the papers to the same size as the corrugated sheets and glued them together -one patter on the back of each corrugated sheet.

I used the cut-away embellishments and borders as well as some left over Halloween embellishments from last year's DCWV release  to decorate my pages.  I added some stamped images and a few punches to flesh everything out.

Lastly, I bound the book using rings and tied some ribbon to finish.  I didn't add photos because I plan on using this book for our 2013 Halloween pictures!

Do you every craft for holidays or special events in advance?  Let me know in you comments!

Thanks for stopping by!

DCWV - Glam Rock Stack (Hanson Layout!!)

Hello cropstars!!  I have been just CRAZY with these DCWV stacks lately!  I have another layout for you today - featuring one of my longest, and dearest LOVES!

I bet you didn't know that I am a SUPER, HUGE, MEGA fan of  Hanson.

Yes - that Hanson.

Their music has been the soundtrack of my life.  Twelve is a pretty young age to find a band that will still be making music that's relevant over a decade later (and changing live through activism, running a record company, and touting relationships with celebrities like Carol King, Jonny Lang, Taylor Swift, Jason Mraz, Kevin Bacon, and Kat Dennings to only name a few).

Well, this band, who I love and respect as musicians (who influence me to be who I am and follow my passion - no matter who makes fun of me or doesn't understand) they came to my city this summer and headlined an event called "Uncorked" - FOR FREE.  Hundreds of people turned out for it and a 40 minute show turned into an hour and a half - with an encore!

In short - they rocked.  Want to see how they rock now?  Of course you do.

(Video montage by Gina P)

Okay, you made it through two videos and all of my ranting - I suppose you deserve some ACTUAL papercrafting inspiration now,

I used the new DCWV Glam Rock Stack, take a look:

And here's my layout:

-------------------------------------------------

Supplies: DCWV (The Glam Rock Stack); Martha Stewart & Queen & Co. (Washi Tape); Star Punch; American Crafts (Thickers); Cosmo Cricket (Tiny Type); Ki Memories (Brads)

Do you have some pictures of your favorite musician or band that you could scrap with this stack?  Who is it?

Thanks for stopping by!  Later queenies!

DCWV - Citrus Stack + Adhesive Fabric Stack

Happy Sunday!  I'm so glad you decided to stop by and see me today.  I'm sharing a card I made using two new DCWV stacks: Citrus Twist (2) + 6x6 Adhesive Fabric Stack!

Take a look:

I used a stencil from Studio Calico to create the background on a piece of the adhesive fabric.  The sentiment, butterfly, and circle are all from the Citrus Stack.  The Metallic elements are from one of the metallic 6x6 pads from DCWV as well.

The cardbase is also by DCWV, from their dots and stripes card box.

Supplies: DCWV (The Citrus Stack, Dots and Stripes Cardbox, 6x6 Adhesive Fabric Stack, 6x6 Metallic Cardstock Stack), Studio Calico (Chevron Stencil), Heidi Swapp (Color Shine), Sizzix (Doily Sizzlet Die), Cheery Lynn Designs (Butterfly Die), Ranger (Liquid Pearls)

DCWV - The Sky's The Limit Stack

What's up people?!   Here today to share a simple card I made using a  pretty adorable new DCWV stack called The Sky's The Limit.  It has all my favorite things - clouds, suns, hot air balloons...you know, all the BEST stuff!

Take a look:

As you know, I am a BIG fan of the cut-apart sheets that are often included in DCWV stacks.  Well, this stack's cut-aparts are SUPER cute and just so useable.  I actually sat down and cut them ALL out, just because I could.  I'm insane, I know, but is was very gratifying seeing the large pile of cuteness on my work table.

Do you like the little epoxy over the sun?  I punched that straight from the stack using my Epiphany Crafts Round 25 tool.  I love the pop and shine that it adds!

 ------------------------------------------------------------

Supplies: DCWV (The Skies The Limit Stack); Clearsnap (Chestnut Roan Chalk ink); Epiphany Crafts (Round 25 tool)

----------------------------------------------------------

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Look for this stack to be popping up in your local Michael's along with (My other FAVORITE stack from this release!) Sweet Tangerine.
