Hey there lovelies! It's been a little while since I brought you some inspiration, but get ready, because I have some AWESOME holiday projects coming to you , starting NOW!
So, without any further ado, let's get started!
The holiday release from DCWV is full of trendy patterns and ideas, but there's still plenty to be had for the lover of traditional, holiday flair! For today's project I have pulled out the stack from this year's release that, I think, melds the traditional with the trendy perfectly.
This stack is full of fun, traditional Christmas iconography, that is laid out in a modern style. There are journaling cards (perfect for PJL enthusiasts!), cut-out pages, and borders along with the lush patterned papers.
Funny story: LAST year I asked my dad to build me a wooden Christmas count-down calendar (cause he's so good as building stuff!) so, number one - our family finally has one, and two - I have a REALLY cool DT project. Well, the season got busy and even though he had best intentions, he didn't end up finishing until it was past the holiday season last year. He wasn't very happy, but it had to be put on the back burner. Fast forward to this November and BAM - I had a perfect base for a fantastic holiday project!
I purchased a little weighted tree and decorated it with some paper garland and a bunch of Blue Moon Beads. Then, I lighted my tree with REAL mini lights (it's a little too bright to see , but they are lit!). I saw the little lights and stockings on the cut-out sheet and knew I needed to create a mantle for them to hang from.
Don't you love the way that Dec. 25th journaling card that I used to extend the fireplace? It did double duty as the last number of the countdown!
I used some really cute Silhouette files with my DCWV Christmas Memories paper (the Cameo LOVES my DCWV paper!) to make my fireplace and little gift boxes to put under my tree.
These numbers are a cut-apart page from the stack and they are just ready and waiting to become a Christmas countdown, just like this one!
(You have to add the Godiva chocolate treat for each day - that is a finishing touch that cannot be over looked!)
