Just a Little More Vintage Collector!

Hello and happy Friday people!  I'm joining you on the interwebs today to share just a few more projects using the WONDERFUL Vintage Collector line by DCWV.

First I have a fun, funky card that I made using VC Box of Cards, the ephemera pack, the stamp set and the 12x12 paper stack.

I opened the ephemera pack and saw that woodgrain mustache and couldn't resist pulling out one of my wood veneer glass frames and creating a fun pair of nerd glasses!  Once I had that idea I just ran with the 1950's style and added the retro BURST as an anchor for my design.  (Tip: I used a triangle-shaped drafting ruler and a pencil to create the burst!)

The second project I have for you today is a 4x6 photo storage box!  I used the VC heart stickers, Chalkboard labels, Chevron washi tape, and the 12x12 paper stack along with my Silhouette Cameo to create this awesome storage container!

I cut the pieces of the box with my silhouette and assembled the box using my ATG gun.  Then, I added the frame, ephemera, stickers and embellishments to the top.  For extra reinforcement I ran a strip of the wide, chevron washi tape all the way around the top part edge of the box.  It's really sturdy too!

Here is a picture and link to the silhouette file I used that I downloaded from the silhouette store:

DCWV - Vintage Collector Layout!

Hello there, dear ones!  I'm here today to share a layout I created using the Vintage Collector line by DCWV!

I've been watching a lot of youtube videos lately and it seems that so many of the layouts I saw utilize 3x4 and 4x6 journaling cards on traditional scrapbooking pages and not JUST pocket-style scrapbooking.  So, my goal for creating this layout was to choose one of the awesome, new 4x6 cards that are part of the VC line and incorporate it into my traditional layout.

I used a 4x6 photo and the 4x6 card as my main focal points - the card also serves as part of my title.

I also utilized lots of the die cuts from the extremely generous die cut back - don't just LOVE the chalkboard elements in this set?!  The "Hello Friend" is a stamp from the Vintage Collector stamp set!

I used a frame cut from the VC stack and a few of the buttons from the button pack to fill in some little empty spaces.

So, if you have some of those journaling cards lying around, or you'd like to re-purpose some of your pocket page supplies in your traditional layouts, give this technique a try!  Have you ever used something on a traditional layout that was meant for cards, home décor, or other types of crafting?  Tell me about your project!

I Just PLANE Love You!

Hey there crafty people, so glad you decided to join me today!

First of all, I want to make sure you don't miss the freebie of the day, HERE!

 Cute, right?!
--------------------------------------

I really love sky-themed things: clouds, suns, moons, things with wings, etc.  I wanted to incorporate that theme into my project this week and I thought the file I used was a perfect starting point.

Funny story - I cut and layered all my little shapes, created my card, and went to stamp the PERFECT sentiment...which I did NOT have.  So, after walking around my craft room for 20 minutes, searching in vain for something that would work, I decided to improvise.  I spelled "PLANE" in sticker letters and then used the words I needed from three different sentiment stamps.  The lesson: don't forget how creative you are (like I l amost did)!

Love this card and want to get started on your own PLANE cute card?  Get the file in the $.50 store: HERE!

DCWV's Newest: Vintage Collector!!!

Have you visited the DCWV blog lately?!  Well, if you haven't you are missing out on some AMAZING projects featuring the newest COMPLETE SCRAPBOOKING LINE called Vintage Collector!

I am totally and utterly in LOVE with this new line of products.  I just saw the whole display at my local Michael's today and it is FABULOUS!!!  Stickers, letters, brads, bottle caps, LOTS of paper pads, fabric paper, printed cork, coordinating card and envelopes, STAMPS, and even a beautiful post-bound album.

Take a look at the cards I made using this new collection:

For this card I used the VC Embossed Kraft Cards, used some white ink to emphasize the hearts (to die for, right!?), and attached some VC Washi Tape, and strip cut from the 6x12 VC Basic prints stack.  I used two Martha Stewart punches (Monarch, and Doily) along with a VC Stitched Heart Sticker to create my embellishment.  The sentiment was cut from the VC 12x12 stack and the card was finished with yellow twine from the VC Twine Card and a pretty pearl pin.

This card was SO much easier to make than it looks!  The base is another VC card style that is a printed, gate-fold card with the large heart as the gate 'handles'.  First, I stamped and embossed the VC Giant Chevron background stamp on both of the front flaps of the card (it has solid woodgrain originally).  I cut and attached some layers to the heart and then added a Mod Melts by Mod Podge heart embellishment (colored with Gold Smooch) and added a bow over the middle with a VC Chipboard button as the center.  Then, I stamped one of the VC sentiment stamps on some of the patterned paper from the 12x12 VC stack, matted the inside of the card with the Hearts patterened paper from the VC Mat Stack and attached my sentiment over the top.

Don't you just LOVE this collection?!?  I saw in the store today that there is a 20% text coupon available for anyone who opts in for Michael's text messages. What would you make if you had this collection?

There is more amazing inspiration going on over at the DCWV blog.
