Welcome people! It is Monday and the beginning of a new month. That means it is time for another PMS blog hop!!!
As you may know, the PMS store is going all DIGI and everything that is still available in rubber is 75% off! Go get some rubber stamps from PMS before they’re gone!
As for this hop, we are rolling it into our regular Digital Makeover Challenge. BUT, a random commenter from the hop will win ALL the new PMS digis!!
The Challenge:
So, here is my card using some of the new images:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stamps: Faith, Hope, and Love (new word and flower art!) | Weeds and Wildflowers: Life 365 digital journaling card | Cardstock: (red) DCWV | Ribbon
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a hybrid card. I used a digital journaling card (that looks like torn cardboard) and some simple clipping masks. The great thing about digital stamps is that some of them come as both .jpeg and .png files. When imported into a program that can read the .png file’s blank background you can use them in digital scrapbooking and cardmaking as well as hybrid projects.
Here is a video explaining clipping masks. Just IGNORE the first part because a digi stamp can just be opened by File>Folder>(Your Digi folder name) just like opening it in paint or whatever. Just pay attention after the point where he says to “simplify the layer” – just open the .png stamp and go from there. (Not that that was confusing or anything!).
Now, don’t go watch that video until you finish the hop!! As follows:

Michelle Van Patten

Thanks for hopping with us! Don’t forget to comment for the chance to win! And for an extra chance to win a prize, get your digi on and create a card for the May Flowers challenge!!
Keep it royal people!
This is so pretty. Thought the corrugated cardboard was real, not a digital image. Will definitely check out the video.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! And thank you for the link to the video tutorial. I will definitely be watching this one. This is something that I need to learn to do. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLovely card. Like the gras and the red flowers.

Then I first saw your card I wondered how did you do that :) It is so cool and really looks like a real cardboard. I love how you combined digital card making with a real thing :) So awesome card, Britt!
ReplyDeleteOooh, so clever Britt! I need to follow your link and figure out hybrid cards better - love the effect. :) Really does look like real cardboard in the background.
